Chamberlain College of Nursing (BSN)
I had been a stay-at-home mom for 15 years, while working as a real estate broker for 19 years. I decided to make a career change and went to nursing school. It was a challenge to go back to college and be a mom at the same time, but I loved school and was able to make it work. Upon graduation, I was hired into CPS in December 2022, and was assigned to Peterson in January 2023. I had spent most of my time volunteering at my children's schools both in the classroom and running the PTO. Because of these experiences, I knew school nursing would be the perfect job for me. I was immediately welcomed by the staff, and feel right at home here!
“I cannot choose just one thing I love about Peterson! I love caring for the students who need medical attention, or need someone to follow their health journeys, or just need a little TLC sometimes. I love chatting with the students and learning all about them, their traditions, their cultures, and their goals. I love the staff who all work together tirelessly to make sure Peterson is a successful school, jumping in to help whenever and wherever is needed. Peterson truly is a wonderful school to work in, and I love coming to work!”
When I am not caring for our students and staff at Peterson, you can usually find me shuttling my 5 kids to their sports and activities (we're a big baseball family!), coaching softball or volleyball, volunteering at my kids' schools, reading great books with my book club, or traveling with my friends and family!
