CPS WINTER WEATHER POLICY
Below 15°F with or without wind chill:
Indoor line-up and indoor recess
Between 31° F and 15° F with or without wind chill:
Principal discretion. Safe for outdoor line-up and recess pending these conditions; wind chill, precipitation and playground safety.
Above 32° and warmer with or without wind chill:
Line-up and recess should be held outdoors pending precipitation, and playground safety.
At Peterson, all outdoor activity is contingent on conditions being safe for all students. Please make sure your child is dress in several thin layers and to wear boots, gloves/mittens, a hat and scarf. Prevention is the best way to avoid hypothermia and frostbite. We appreciate your support and cooperation.
